Ventilation
Energy conservation in modern buildings also reduces natural ventilation of fresh air, which is bad for health and can, in extreme cases, lead to sick building syndrome.
The ventilation, filters and humidity controls in modern air conditioning and heat recovery systems mitigates the effects of pollutants circulating through the building, such as dust, smoke, bacteria, viruses, mould fungus, mildew and gases.
By lowering the concentration of such pollutants, ventilation prevents or seriously reduces the adverse health effects which can result, and the correct humidity levels (40 – 60%) prolong the life of indoor equipment.
Heat recovery systems can also be used to counter the effects of poor air circulation.
